The Institute for Animal Happiness and People’s Place - With supporting partners NY Farm Animal Save and Powered by Plants Consulting - are excited to present a special event as part of this collaborative, free vegan food initiative: The Happy Harvest Dinner!

Special thanks to Sunflower Market and Hudson Valley Farm Hub for supporting this event.

The Happy Harvest Dinner was conceived to fill a need for greater access to (and awareness of) healthier, kinder and more sustainable food options to support the community during the Holiday Season. In a time of zoonotic pandemic and when we are facing a worsening climate crisis – combined with a growing interest in animal welfare and unending human health concerns - more and more people are seeking change and willing to try something new! There are healthier, more sustainable options that still allow us to indulge in the same flavor profiles and recipes we know and love at this time of year, but are better for our health, use less resources to produce, and don’t rely upon a system of harm to animals.

Festive, filling, holiday food can also be healthy and healing for all: all humans, all non-humans and the planet too! And everyone, no matter their income or abilities, deserves access to these healthy choices in order to be equal stakeholders in a healthy planet for future generations. What we eat and how we farm literally affects the entire earth and the lives of all who live here.

Huge thanks to the staff and volunteers of People’s Place - and to the volunteers from the Institute for Animal Happiness - for helping the cart come to life.

Gratitude once again to Chef Kim of People’s Place, for bringing her talents to this effort. This week we hear she is going to be making her swoon-worthy Vegetable Fried Rice. We’ll update when we know for sure but all we do know is everything she makes is delicious!

Special thanks to these supporting partners:

Earth Breeze - for donating free packages of their incredible, plastic-free and plant-based laundry detergent sheets. A revolutionary product that can really make doing laundry easier and lighter on the planet… no plastic bottle to harm the earth, and nothing to lug around and hurt your back!
Unovis - for donating the cart itself to this project.
NY Farm Animal Save - for their support and camaraderie on this project, and for all of their amazing street activism and work on a very-much related project, www.pandemicfreeworld.com
