THE HAPPY CART returns to the streets of Kingston NY
on May 11th, 2022.
The Happy Cart, with it’s bright signs and “education station” will be back serving up vegan whole-and-healthy comfort foods…
WHERE: Find us in back of People’s Place at 17 St. James Street, Kingston NY.
WHEN: Every Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm (barring extreme weather days).
Our Instagram page - @happycartvegan - is the place to head for weekly updates and we’ll try to keep timely updates here on this website as well.
The Cart is there to serve community no matter who you are, no questions asked. All walks of life are welcome. Food is served to-go with a side-order of smiles. Dishes are prepared each week primarily by Chef Kim Prottas of People’s Place’s Community Cafe, and then supplemented by local vegan entrepreneurs we purchase from, so that we can simultaneously support local small vegan businesses and highlight their offerings.

LANTERN PUBLISHING AND MEDIA: Each week we will continue to give out free vegan and health-themed books* from Lantern Publishing and Media, via our Education Station next to the cart (*while supplies last each week; titles will vary.)
EARTH BREEZE is an amazing company that provides us with free packages of their fully vegan, earth-friendly and plastic-free laundry detergent sheets to give away to cart visitors every week! For Happy Cart visitors who experience a lot of vulnerability in their living situations, the hope is this can be one less thing people have to lug around: one small thin paper package of Earth Breeze is good for doing 60 loads of laundry. And it empowers those who use it to enjoy clean clothes and bedding, while helping each of us take an active role in reducing pollution of our land and water.
V-DOG! Because the Happy Cart’s mission is to celebrate and support all living beings, we are grateful to partner with V-Dog and offer free samples of their amazing plant-based and healthy dog food to Happy Cart visitors with canine family members. Dogs are actually omnivores and most of them love munching plants such as carrots, sweet potatoes, kale stems and more to complete their nutritional intake. V-Dog’s formula 100% covers canine nutritional needs and is a really healthy boost for any pup.
